Great Britain Men |
Great Britain Deaf Football wishes to thank many people who were involved in many aspects of the first leg of the European Deaf Football Championships qualifiers.
So many people came together to ensure that our first leg went smoothly. The day could not have been done without the massive support of Fulham FC. We thank in particular Steve Day, the Chief Executive of Fulham FC, and Claire Obee of Fulham FC, who has been a massive support throughout the mammoth organising of the day, along with Fulham's Security Team who did an excellent job on the day.
Our special thanks also go to Susi Williams and Daniel Rumney who volunteered to drive the minibuses and to Simeon who was our interpreter on the day. With thanks to the ball boys, our very own GB mascot, and the stretcher bearers who volunteered their services for the game. Thank you to our VIP's; Karim Fayed, Derek Simmons, Martin Lewis and Mike Webster for attending the game as our Guests of Honour. Thanks to Walkabout of Wimbledon who hosted a great party in the evening with great decorations in true GB colours.
Particular thanks also go out to the GB Deaf volunteers; Joe Collins, Faye Routledge, Richard Parker, Karen Parker, Nick Beese, Martine Laverty. The day wouldn't have been possible without your support.
Last but not least, a massive thank you to all the GB supporters who turned up on the day to witness Great Britain beat Israel 4-1. We now wish the GB team the best of luck for the second leg being held in Tel Aviv on the 29th May. We will continue to update you on GB's progress. |
