GB Men would like to thank all the family, friends and businesses who helped support Great Britain Men on our journey to Taiwan. We are indebted in gratitude to everyone who helped each of us reach our enormous fundraising target.
We were heartened by the kindness and collective passion to help us achieve our target shown by all our supporters, who helped in many different ways - ranging from organising a hat party, taking collection buckets on the London Underground, partaking in sponsored events and dipping into their pockets to sponsor our players via just giving website. Additionally, a big thank you must go to the people who provided us with training facilities and teams to play against in our preparations during the run-up to the Deaflympics.
We are obviously very disappointed that we were not able to repeat the success we enjoyed in the Melbourne 2005 Deaflympics, though we can safely say that the GB fans in Taiwan won Gold for being the best fanbase, as you easily outnumbered all other countries. The numbers and amazing sea of red, blue and white you brought to all our matches gave us all an extra incentive and made us proud to be British!
Once again, thank you we salute you all!
