UKDS hosted a post-Deaflympics celebration evening to recognise the success of the athletes accomplishments at the 21st Deaflympics in Taiwan, 5-15th September 2009.
GB Women achieved a fourth place losing out to Russia and GB Men 9th having been taken for a surprise and knocked out of the group stages.
Many of the GB Men and Women were able to attend and a great night was had by all.
The Reception was hosted by Deputy Mayor Richard Barnes, who congratulated Team GB on their achievements and handed out certificates to medal winners. A great surprise of the night was when Boris Johnson paid a visit!
